Your Doctor – One of the Best Chiropractors in Derby
I have not always known I wanted to be a chiropractor.
I always had a passion for biology & wellbeing since I can remember and in 2005 graduated with a degree in Spa Management in Buxton. It was there where I first learned about the impact of different therapies on the human body and the muscles. After completion of my degree, I moved to Portland, Dorset, where I worked with the sailing Olympic teams during 2012. Working with professional athletes encouraged me to look deeper into sports massage. After successfully opening a sports massage practice in Derby I found limitations as a massage therapist and decided to expand my skillset by becoming a chiropractor. Studying at McTimoney College of Chiropractic took 5 long years and a lot of traveling between Derby and Abingdon. I opened ChiroFamilyPractice with a focus on providing gentle chiropractic care for symptoms ranging from back pain to sciatica as well as general aches and pains.
Dr. Ewa is one of the very few UK Chiropractors to have had the privilege of training with Dr. Steve A. Hoffman (USA) founder of Mastering Chiropractic with Certainty (MC2) with over 37 years of experience in the chiropractic field. Dr Hoffman developed the MC2 technique (the main technique we use in our practice) with a focus on correcting nervous system imbalances directly, which then corrects the structural distortions. Rather than moving the bone (traditional chiropractic techniques) to affect the nervous system, it affects the nervous system so that the muscles can then correct the bone out of alignment. This result is no “cracking” sound. MC2 is the most specific, targeted, and gentlest application of chiropractic adjustment. It’s also one of the most highly respected, as it pinpoints precise neurological imbalance and helps the bodywork better to heal itself from specific symptoms and focus on the patient’s wellbeing. Seeing beyond your pain
I always had a passion for sports, health & wellbeing. From downhill on mountain bikes to football and everyday life, I have always tried to ensure I was functioning at my best. From a young age, I always wanted to be an engineer as I was always curious about how things worked. Having graduated with a master’s in engineering from Kings College London in 2005 I soon found myself doing a sponsored doctorate at Birmingham University by Rolls-Royce. In 2009 I joined Rolls-Royce as a measurement specialist which would lead me to a successful career in engineering that is until I came across chiropractic and the impact it had on my health and wellbeing. Regular chiropractic care helped me change the direction of my health to the point where I decide to leave my engineering career and start a chiropractic degree. I found myself having the same curious passion for how the human body worked and more specifically the nervous system which lead me to become an expert in insight CLA scanning technology (Neurological scans which form part of your initial assessment).
