About Chiropractic
What is chiropractic? There is nothing inside of you that wants you to function at anything less than the greatest levels that you’re capable of having. The only catch is that your body requires clear communication with the brain, free from any interference. This communication happens through your body’s nerve system, making it in charge of every other operation in the body. That’s all that chiropractic care is about. It helps to connect the brain with your body, so you can live your life on an optimal level.

- Ankle sprain, Cramps, Muscles spasms
- Elbow pain, Tennis elbow as effect of other spine conditions

Promoting Brain-body Communication
As a chiropractor, Dr Eva Lobato (Spine Health Specialist in Derby) is a communication expert. Like any relationship in life, your brain and body need a high level of communication to stay well. The benefits of chiropractic care that you’ll experience are practically endless! Our clinic’s members tell us that they wake up after sleeping better feeling more energetic, are happier, and more productive. Increased immunity is another common benefit, and when you do get sick, you’ll be able to recover more quickly.
Getting Better and Staying Well
There are two phases of care at Chiro Family Practice (Spine Doctor in Derby). If we evaluate you and decide that we can help, we’ll have a plan of how many visits you’ll need to resolve your issues. At this point, you’ll be in restoration care. Then, you’ll transition into wellness care.
It’s similar to if you wanted to lose weight, you’d work out often and with high intensity at the beginning. Once you reach your goal weight, you’ll maintain your progress instead of stopping workouts and gaining back the weight. You’ll continue on that healthy path, sustaining your results or even continuing to improve.

Our Chiropractic Techniques
Integrator (Precise instrument adjusting)
The Integrator has true force adjustment as well as a choice of three tip sizes, shapes, and density characteristics to allow for the chiropractor the greatest outcome in correcting almost any subluxation that can present itself. The Integrator™ is a legally marketed medical device for the adjustment of the Vertebral Subluxation; only available to licensed Doctors of Chiropractic Care. Key advantages of using the Integrator:
. PRECISE: When using an Integrator chiropractor can pinpoint the exact point on the spine that requires adjustment. Manual adjusting in some cases lacks this degree of accuracy.
. SPECIFIC: The force, frequency of energy, torque, speed, and thrust provided by the Integrator have all been tailor-made to deliver the perfect amount of energy required for your joints.
. GENTLE: An Integrator adjustment can be delivered with the spine in a perfectly relaxed neutral position with the perfect amount of force: Whereas a traditional adjustment requires the spine to be stretched to a position of tension followed by the manual thrust by hand to sufficiently open the spinal joints to activate a cavitation response.
McTimoney Chiropractic Holistic View
This particular set of chiropractic techniques seems to the observer (and usually receiver) to be extremely light and almost incapable of producing any effect whatsoever. The key to the success of the adjustments, however, is the speed with which they are delivered. The McTimoney chiropractor’s specialism is a type of swift thrust known as the “toggle torque recoil” technique. To perform the toggle torque recoil, the practitioner uses one hand as a “hammer” and the other as a “nail”. In effect, the hammer pushes and torques the nail in the desired direction with one extremely swift, painless movement, with almost instantaneous recoil. This effectively frees the joint and eases the tension in the surrounding muscles.

Regular Visits – Your Care Plan

After the investment of time needed on the first and second visits, many patients become concerned that every visit will be of equal length. In a word: no. A typical visit may require just a few, highly-focused, minutes. But don’t think the brevity of a regular visit lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, we can quickly size up your spine and nervous system, adjust you and get you on your way. Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and we can lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes. We recognise your time is valuable. We do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.
FAQ Chiropractic Care
During my experience of work as a Spine Health Specialist, I’ve heard our customers asking many similar questions… Here I’ve compiled a top 10 list of the most frequently asked ones!
What are the side effects?
There are very few risks or side effects associated with spinal care. In fact, most people feel some immediate improvement after their first treatment. If your chiropractor foresees any potential for an adverse reaction, then treatment will obviously be modified. Alternatively, you will be considered inappropriate for this particular type of care and referred to as either your GP or a relevant specialist.
Occasionally some people experience a little soreness after their initial treatment, some temporary light-headedness can occur and rarely a headache can be evoked. All of these symptoms generally pass very quickly.
Will the treatment hurt?
In the main no! Occasionally with very acute presentations, the process can cause some mild discomfort momentarily.
By the way, if this approach makes as much sense to you as it does to us, we’d like an opportunity to meet you and discuss your options in person.
